Way before toxin-free manicures were trendy, there was Dr.’s REMEDY, one of the first doctor-formula

That not only promised luxe polish colors but a brand that also addressed real concerns. The brainchild of a doctor with an inventive spirit and a wellness-minded mom destined to run a beauty company, our brand story chronicles a dream realized by way of teamwork and a shared wish for creating inspiring and unique products that are not only functional, but as gentle on our nails as they are on the world around us:

As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention. It was also the driving force behind the Dr.’s Remedy brand. Our story starts in 2005. After personally searching—without success—for a clean, safe nail polish that he could recommend to both his patients (podiatrists are known for telling women NEVER to use polish) as well as his pregnant wife, Adam Cirlincione did what any podiatrist, doting dad-to-be and budding entrepreneur would do, he created one himself.

One day while performing surgery, fresh out of residency and in the midst of building his own practice, Cirlincione shared his vision with his colleague, Dr. William Spielfogel, a Board Certified Podiatrist and a leader in the field. The two worked together to design the concept and the idea came to life; luxurious lacquer that women 'CAN' wear! Ultimately, a manicure formulated and backed by trusted podiatrists with both function and flair.

So, in 2006, with a mission to combine effective and nourishing natural ingredients with the most innovative nail care chemistry they could conjure, Dr.’s Remedy was born. As the first-of-its kind, doctor-formulated polish--there was nothing on the market like it at that time--the buzz on Dr.’s Remedy pure and pampering formulations grew stronger along with consumer’s desire for cleaner beauty products. As the brand’s distribution increased to include doctor’s offices and day spas across the world, and Dr. Cirlincione’s responsibilities at his practice became more demanding, he called in reinforcements: his wife.

Leaving behind a successful career in television production (and with brand new baby #3 in tow), Dr. Cirlincione’s wife Rachel, who never met a challenge she didn’t like, was tapped to take the brand to the next level. Needless to say, she hit the ground running, took her spot as a full-time Managing Director, and the rest is nail polish history.

Dr.’s Remedy launched with one goal in mind: create products that were safe to use, address real concerns and therapeutically support nails—both inside and out. From a cutting-edge cuticle oil to a biotin enriched eco-friendly base coat and a paraben-free gel-like finish topcoat—just to name a few—our wellness-inspired and solution-based treatments work together to help protect and maintain perfectly healthy nails—sans harmful chemicals.

As an idea that started out in a small NY podiatrist’s office—and ended up with a woman at the helm—Dr.’s Remedy is now pampering fingers and toes around the world as well as empowering women to look and feel their best. Our ‘less is more’ philosophy—which centers on finding the right products, rather than lots of them, delivers straightforward solutions and clean formulations that cater to every nail concern. With our foot planted firmly in the future of nail care and wellness at its heart, the true beauty of the Dr.’s Remedy brand can be found not only in what we put into our formulas, but also in what they’re missing. A perfect mix of luxury and performance, Dr.’s Remedy is ultimately a brand with a mission: to give your manicure everything it needs—and nothing it doesn’t.
